Description Characteristics Application

Vacuum oil VM-5 (OST 38.01402-86) is produced from low-sulfur or sulfurous oils through several stages of fine vacuum distillation, as well as deep purification, ensuring a high class of product purity. It has a higher kinematic viscosity compared to VM-5C oil and is stable to oxidation. The shelf life of VM-5 oil is 5 years from the date of manufacture.

  Indicator Name OST Norm

2 Color on CNT colorimeter, CNT units ≤Colorless
3 Odor Absent
4 Kinematic viscosity, mm2/s, at 50°C 60-74
5 Flash point in open crucible, °C ≥230
6 Mass fraction of water, % Absent
7 Mass fraction of mechanical impurities, % Absent
8 Content of water-soluble acids and bases Absent
9 Ash content, % ≤0.010
10 Vapor pressure at 20°C, Pa ≤2.7x10-6
11 Critical residual pressure at 20°C, Pa ≤9.3x10-5
12 Boiling temperature at which vapor pressure equals 1.33 Pa (1.10-2 mm Hg), °C 140-155

Used as a working fluid in high-performance high-vacuum vapor-oil pumps and vacuum systems. Due to its high hydrolytic stability, VM-5 oil ensures a long service life of vacuum equipment.
